April 8th

Science:

Please continue to work through the activities from Scholastic that were posted yesterday (Day Two)

Grade 2: https://classroommagazines.scholastic.com/support/learnathome/grades-1-2.html

Grade 3: https://classroommagazines.scholastic.com/support/learnathome/grades-3-5.html

Literacy:

Today, listen to Robert Munsch read "Millicent and the Wind."

After reading suggestions:

* Have your child draw a picture of how they imagine it would look like to see Millicent playing with the wind.
* Have you ever had a time where you didn't have a friend to play with? How did it make you feel?

Art

Today I would like you to get outside! Get into your yard, or for a walk around your neighbourhood with someone in your immediate family and gather any interesting rocks, leaves, flowers, pinecones, shells, etc that you see and that could help you make a happy face. Make your face somewhere in your yard or house and take a picture of it and email it to me at kelly.watson@sd78.bc.ca. On the next blog I will post pictures of all of your wonderful nature happy faces.

Here is an example from one of our students!

Math:

If you have a printer, print off the tangram sheets in the link provided.

If you don't have a printer, this activity is from the Bedtime Math link, that you can find on the left hand side of the blog, under "Educational Links." Play around on this site for some great activities that kids can do independently or with a sibling or parent.
