April 17th

Literacy:

1) Please have students read on RAZ kids for 20 minutes today. Last week I had assigned 4 books in the "assignments" section, where students needed to listen to a story, read it themselves, and then do a quiz with some parent help. Please let me know if you would like to have more books assigned.

2) We were to have a new student join our class after Spring Break, named Leyham. Leyham never had a chance to meet students in our class or school because of Covid-19. Please write a message to Leyham welcoming him to Agassiz, and to Kent Elementary School, and draw a picture for him.
If you are able, take a picture of your note, or of you holding your note, and email it to me at kelly.watson@sd78.bc.ca and I will put them together to give to Leyham.

Your letter format may look like this:

To Leyham,

Welcome to _______________.

I hope you ___________________.

I like to ______________ and _______________.

___________________________________________.

From, ________________________

Numeracy:

PBS Learning Media has a lot of great games and activities for kids. Today, we are going to work on patterns using a game called "Cyberchase." There will be several attributes of each pattern that will change - sometimes shape, color, number, or size.
Students may need some help with the addition and subtraction patterns on this game.
