April 14th

I hope you had a wonderful Easter Weekend with your family!

Literacy:

Today's activity is to work on your  Covid-19 Time Capsule Booklet. I will send the PDF through remind this morning, but as I mentioned last week, I left booklets for students at the office with Kim, if you would like to make arrangements with her to pick it up.  These are some sample pages from the booklet.

This is such a difficult time for kids and parents, and I think this booklet will be a good keepsake for students when they get older and realize that they were a part of history. Please take the week to finish these booklets, but if you could take a photo or two of some of your child's favorite photos and email them to me, that would be great.

Numeracy:

Students are now set up for Mathletics! I sent your child's log in names and passwords via remind this morning (or by email if you do not regularly check your Remind). Follow this link to take you to the log in page https://login.mathletics.com/  Try to spend 20 minutes or so working on Math tasks today.

Once there, you will use your child's log in information and it will take you to the following page, where they can choose activities to work on online and explore the site a little bit.

If you have access to a printer, there is a picture on the right hand side of the page that says "workbooks" and this allows you to download workbooks from a variety of grades on a variety of different topics.

Art:

I have added a link to "Educational Links" at the side of the blog that has some really great guided art activities for kids, as well as lots of free and printable art outlines for kids.
I am starting to notice that our trees have many buds, are beginning to grow leaves, and this town is just looking so pretty!

That said, let's make a treetop watercolor painting today!  Follow the link below, and all you need is a watercolor paint palette, a paintbrush, and some paper!
