April 10th

Today is a holiday and students wouldn't be in school, so I won't send you any work for kids to do, but I just wanted to remind parents of a few things!

None of us have ever been in a place like this before, where you have to teach your children at home, while potentially looking after smaller children and even trying to work as well. I have certainly never taught a class from my own home before, or tried to do online learning for primary students before, let alone while looking after my own children at home.

Please be patient with me while we try to sort this out the best way that we know how to. Also please try to be patient and understanding with your children as they have never been in a situation like this before either.

Most of you have picked up your child's belongings, math and phonics workbooks, and a few other packets from the school, but if you haven't, please get in contact with Kim at the school to arrange a time to pick these things up.
I will not be assigning Jump Math or phonics pages, but the materials sent home are useful for your children, so please use this when you have time, but don't work if you don't get to them some days.

Our class blog that I send out every day includes activities from a range of subject areas and our all part of the Grade 2/3 curriculum.
These activities should not take children much longer than an hour, and if they do and your child is not managing the activities well or it is just too much for your family to manage, please just skip it and come back to it another day.
Your priority is the well-being of your family, so please just do what you can and keep in touch.

I am here to help in any way that I can. I have sent video instructions as well as email replies to students who are having trouble with phonics or math and I am more than happy to help with anything you may need.
