Science: Mrs.Weaver has prepared a Science lesson for you for today

Do you ever wonder how I can get my kayak to move forward through the water?  Or how I can send a baseball flying by just hitting it with a bat?  What do you wonder about the way things are motioned forwards or backwards?   In our next Science unit, we will be exploring how Force and Motion works.
For an interesting, entertaining way to learn about Force and Motion, check out Bill Nye the Science Guy in his Force episode at  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjyW64bpHf0

Check out  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILhckx1zGXw for some great experiments you can do at home, using stuff around the house.  You could even have someone video record you doing the experiments, send them to me at wendy.weaver@sd78.bc.ca and we could share them with the class.  We would all love to see you conducting these experiments!

Literacy: We are going to try an art project down below taught by a Gitxsan Artist, Michelle Stoney. But first, here is a link to provide a little information about the Gitxsan Territory in Northern B.C. Please help your children to read this is they need it.

* In your notebook, write down 6 describing words (adjectives) that describe what the land in the Gixsan Territory looks like.
* Please draw a picture to describe what you imagine the land to look like based on the explanation that you read.

Art: This is a directed drawing of a mountain and feather.  There are two drawing lessons in this video, so skip to 1 hr 15 minutes to being the mountain/feather lesson. Please send pictures once you have completed the lesson and added your colors!
