May 19th

I hope you all had a great weekend and were able to spend some time outdoors! If you were able to complete the Tent Building Challenge, please send me a picture to my email or on Remind.
* You should have all received an email or Remind message from me last week asking about whether or not your child will be returning to school part-time on June 1st. If you have had time to think about that, please send me an email or Remind message to let me know your decision. Thank you!

Literacy: In continuing with our outdoor theme, have a listen to this story called "The Hike" written and illustrated by Alison Farrell.

* Think of a place that you love to hike or to explore that is outdoors. When picturing what it looks like, try to use your senses. What do you see in your special place, what are the sounds you hear, what does it smell like, what are some things that you like to touch outdoors and what do they feel like. What taste do you imagine when you are in this place?

* Draw a picture of your favourite place to explore.
* Write about it using your 5 senses descriptions.

Math:
* Spend 10-20 minutes outside exploring. Either in your back yard, front yard, or for a walk with someone in your family. On your walk, gather any leaves or flowers that you find on the ground (don't pick any that are still growing!)
* When you get home, use this pdf (let me know if you would like me to email it to you) or draw this table in your notebook. Count the number of lines on your leaves or flowers and then count the number of leaves on each flower.

Have a great day!
